We have to use the distance formula


d=\sqrt[]{(y_2-y_1)^2+(x_2-x_1)^2}

Let's replace the points (6,5) and (8,9).


\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(9-5)^2+(8-6)^2}=\sqrt[]{4^2+2^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{16+4}=\sqrt[]{20} \\ d\approx4.5 \end{gathered}
