For the given figure, we will find the area

The given figure can be divided into two shapes as shown in the following figure:

Shape (1) is a rectangle:

Length = 9 cm

Width = 6 cm

Area of shape (1) = 9 x 6 = 54 cm²

Shape (2) is a triangle:

Base = 6 cm

Height = 14 - 9 = 5 cm

Area of shape (2) = 1/2 x 6 x 5 = 15 cm²

So, the area of the given figure = 54 + 15 = 69 cm²
