Derron is planning to build a garage at his house and needs to pour the concrete floor. The garage is 24ft by 36ft and he wants to pour the floor so that it is 4 inches thick. After calling the concrete company, he learned that it will cost him $130 per cubic yard plus a $90 delivery charge for each load of concrete. If the concrete truck can deliver up to 10 cubic yards of concrete in each load, how much will it cross for the delivery to pour the garage floor?

The dimension of the garage is 24 ft by 36ft by 4 in.

To covert inch in feet divide by 12 as 1 feet is equal to 12 inch.

Determine the volume of concrete required for the garage.

\begin{gathered} V=24\cdot36\cdot((4)/(12)) \\ =288 \end{gathered}

Determine the volume in cubic yards.

\begin{gathered} V=288ft^3\cdot(0.037037yd^3)/(1ft^3) \\ =10.667 \end{gathered}

So to deliver 10.667 cubic yards, concrete truck travel twice as truck can deliver upto 10 cubic yards only.

Determine the total cost for the delivery to pour the garage flour.

\begin{gathered} T=288\cdot130+2\cdot90 \\ =37440+180 \\ =37620 \end{gathered}

So total cost of concrete to pour on the floor for the garage is $37620.
