If the area of the rug in this den 48 square feet and the width of the carpet is 6', what isthe perimeter of the rug?

For this case we know that the area of the rug is 48 ft^2 and we also know that the width is 6' we try to find the perimeter so we can do this.

We can start converting the 6' into ft and we got:


6in\cdot(1ft)/(12in)=0.5ft

Now we can use the formula of area in order to solve for the lenght like this:


48ft^2=L\cdot0.5ft

And solving for L we got:


L=(48)/(0.5)=96ft

And the perimeter for this case would be given by:


P=2L+2W

And replacing we got:


P=2(96+0.5ft)=193ft
