Emeline can type at a constant rate of 1/4 pages/minute. b. Emeline has to type a 5-page article but only has 18 minutes until she reaches the deadline. Does Emeline have enough time to type the article? Why or Why not?

The typing rate of Emeline is given as,

=(1)/(4)\text{ pages per minute}

This can be understood as, Emeline take one-fourth of a minute to type one page,

(1)/(4)\text{ page}\equiv1\text{ minutes}

Now, the time that Emeline requires to type 5 page will be,

5\text{ page}=5\cdot(1)/(((1)/(4)))=5\cdot4=20\text{ minutes}

So it is observed that Emeline requires 20 minutes by typing at her regular speed.

But the deadline of the work is given as 18 minutes which is definitely less than 20 minutes.

Therefore, it can be concluded that Emeline does not have enough time to type the article.
