The distance between two(2) points is given by the formula:


d=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

From the given points:


\begin{gathered} (5,0)\text{ and (2,-2)} \\ x_1=5;y_1=0_{} \\ x_2=2;y_2=-2 \end{gathered}

Thus, we have:


\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(2-5)^2+(-2-0)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{(-3)^2+(-2)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{9+4} \\ d=\sqrt[]{13} \\ d=3.6 \end{gathered}

Hence, the distance between the points (5,0) and (2,-2) is 3.6
