To find the total surface area of compound shape.

The area of one rectangle with length 18 cm and width 10 cm

A=18*10=180sq.cm

The area of second rectangle with length 10 cm and width 4 cm.

A=10*4=40sq.cm

The area of square with side 4cm

A=4*4=16sq.cm

For the overlapping figure.

A=18*7-7*4=126-28=98

Hence the total surface area of compound shape is

180+40+16+98=334sq.cm
