We need to solve the following


\begin{gathered} y=-x-8 \\ 2x-y=2 \end{gathered}

Let's plot these line

In order to plote them, we need to find a set of two points for each one

Line 1) y = -x - 8

point 1 -> when x = -8 then y = 0

point 2 -> then x = 0 then y = -8

Line 2) 2x-y=2

point 3 -> when x = 2 then y = 2

point 4 -> when x = 0 then y = -2

Using these points we can obtain the following lines:

We can see that both line intersect at (-2,-6) so that's our solution
