8y - 6 = 4y + 12

Collect like term

8y - 4y = 12 + 6

4y = 18

Divide both-side of the equation by 4

y = 4.5

But,

QS = 8y -6

substitute y =4.5 in the above

QS = 8(4.5) - 6

= 36 - 6

= 30
