The number 3 is split into 3 equal parts which are blue boxes, each blue box is split into 3 equal parts which are red boxes.

There are 9 red boxes.

3 divided by 1/3=The number of red boxes


3/(1)/(3)=9

The number 6 is split into 6 equal parts which are blue boxes, each blue box is split into 2 equal parts which are red boxes.

There are 12 red boxes.

6 divided by 1/2= the total number of red boxes


6/(1)/(2)=12

The number 4 is split into 4 equal parts which are blue boxes, each blue box is split into 2 equal parts which are red boxes.

There are 8 red boxes.

4 is divided into 1/2= the total number of red boxes.


4/(1)/(2)=8

There are 20 red boxes.

4 is divided by 1/5=the total number of red boxes.
