-3x-y=4 (a)

x = y (b)

Put the value of x in (b) into (a) and solve for y

-3(y) -y =4

-3y-y =4

-4y= 4

y=4/-4

y=-1

Replace the value of y on any equations and solve for x:

x= y

x= -1

(-1,-1)
