When 6 pies were divided among Santa and two elves. It means 6 pies were divided among 3 people.

Hence, each person receives;


(6pies)/(3)=2\text{ }pies

ANSWER: Each person receive 2 pies.

The next day;

Santa and five elves are 6 people. When 3 pies were divided among them. Then, each person receives;


(3pies)/(6)=(1)/(2)\text{ pies}

ANSWER: Each person receives 1/2 pies
