1) Transcription: The synthesis of proteins starts in the cell nucleus, where the DNA is transcripted and mRNA molecules are made.

The mRNA is processed, the parts that do not code for the proteins (introns) are cut off - slicing-, then it is edited, i.e. changes on the nucleotides are made, and finally occurs the polyadenilation, which consists of addinh an adenine tail to the mRNA.

This process occurs in the nucleus of the cell, this structure is labeled with the number 2.

2) Translation: In this step, the mRNA is "read and translated", this means that following the mRNA's sequence, the aminoacids are joined in sequence forming the protein.
