Explanation:

2x+y=9 -> y=-2x+9

3x-y=16

3x-(-2x+9)=16

3x+2x-9=16

5x-9=16

5x-9 (+9)=16 (+9)

5x=25

x=5

no plug in 5 to x in any equation above

2(5)+y=9

10+y (-10)=9 (-10)

y=-1

so the answer is (-5,-1)
