slope intercept form is represented as

\begin{gathered} y=mx+b \\ \text{where} \\ m=\text{slope} \\ b=y-\text{intercept} \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} (1,8)(-2,2) \\ m=(2-8)/(-2-1) \\ m=(-6)/(-3)=2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, let us find b

\begin{gathered} y=2x+b \\ 8=2(1)+b \\ 8-2=b \\ b=6 \end{gathered}

Finally, the equation

\begin{gathered} y=mx+b \\ y=2x+6 \end{gathered}
