The rule of the mean of some data is

mean=(sum)/(number)

Since the given data is

7,13,5,20,14

There are 5 numbers, then

Number = 5

Add them to find the sum

\begin{gathered} Sum=7+13+5+20+14 \\ \\ Sum=59 \end{gathered}

Substitute them in the rule of mean

\begin{gathered} mean=(59)/(5) \\ \\ mean=11.8 \end{gathered}

The mean number of hours for these students is 11.8 hour
