• ,Plan A :

Initial fee = 48

Cost per mile = 0.09

Cost A = 48 + 0.09x

Where x is the number of miles driven.

• Plan B

Initial fee = 57

Cost per mile = 0.07

Cost B = 57 + 0.07x

If both costs are the same:

Cost A = Cost B

48+0.09x = 57+0.07x

Solve for x

0.09x - 0.07x = 57 - 48

0.02x = 9

x = 9 / 0.02x

x= 450

Number of miles = 450

Cost = 48+0.09 (450) = $88.5
