The polynomial:


h=-16t^2+6

represents how far the ball has fallen after t seconds (I will assume that h is measured in ft)

4) After 1 second means that t = 1. Substituting this value into the formula:


\begin{gathered} h=-16\cdot1^2+6 \\ h=-16\cdot1^{}+6 \\ h=-16+6 \\ h=-10 \end{gathered}

The ball fell 10 ft

5) Substituting with t = 3.2 seconds into the formula, we get:


\begin{gathered} h=-16\cdot3.2^2+6 \\ h=-16\cdot10.24+6 \\ h=-163.84+6 \\ h=-157.84 \end{gathered}

The well has a depth of 157.84 ft
