The area of a rectangular flower garden is given by the

expression x2 – 25x +150. If the length of the garden is given
by the expression x - 15, what is the width of the garden?

Explanation:

area of the garden = x² - 25x + 150.

factorise the expression to find the x values.

x² - 25x + 150 = (x - 15)( x - 10) -15-10 = -25

-15*-10= 150

as the garden is rectangle, it's area will be = lw.

a = l × w

a = (x - 15)( x - 10)

one among them is the width, the other the length. if the length is (x - 15), then reasonably the width will be (x - 10).
