For this problem we use the trigonometric function cosine:

\cos (59^(\circ))=(28)/(x)

Solving for x we get:

\begin{gathered} x=(28)/(\cos (59^(\circ)))\approx54.4 \\ x\approx54.4 \end{gathered}
