The rate of reaction is directly proportional to the temperature of the reaction. That means that when the temperature increases the rate of reaction increases, when the temperature decreases the rate of reaction also decreases.

If the temperature of a reaction decreases, the kinetic energy of the particles will decrease. If the kinetic energy of the particles decreases, the speed of the particles will decrease and also the number of collisions. If the number of collisions decreases the rate of reaction will decrease.
