If the derivative goes from positive to negative, as follows:

Then the function has a maximum at the point "x" where the graph of the derivative intercepts.

If the function goes from negative to positive, like this:

Then the function has a minimum at the point "x".

In the given graph, the function does not intercept the x-axis, Therefore, the function has no maximum or minimum points. The answer is DNE for both parts.
