Point C is the bisector of AB, points A and B have coordinates at A(1,1) and B(7,3), What is the y-coordinate of point C?type your answer...

If point C is the bisector of the segment AB, and we are given the coordinates of point A and of point B, we can use the formula for themidpoint of a segment:

The midpoint y coordinate is given by :


y_m=(y_2-y_1)/(2)+y_1

Then replacing the values of the y-coordinates for point A and B we get:

midpoint y-coordinate = (3 - 1)/2 +1 = 2/2 +1 = 1 + 1 = 2

So the y-coordinate of point C is : 2
