SOLUTION

If 60% of the were females out of 230, that means


\begin{gathered} (60)/(100)*230 \\ =(6)/(10)*230 \\ =138\text{ females } \\ males\text{ = 230 - 138} \\ =92 \end{gathered}

hence the answer is 92
