The coordinate of point Y is: (x,y)= (8,-8). We can describe a dilation with respect fo the origin with the notation:

(x,y)\longrightarrow(kx.ky)

where k is the scale factor. In our case, k=1/4.

Then, by applying this rule to our point Y, we have

\mleft(8,-8\mright)\longrightarrow((1)/(4)\cdot8,(1)/(4)\cdot(-8))

Therefore, the image of point Y after the dilation is:

(2,-2)
