(a)For each size, the number of tiles used will be different. Therefore, the statement (a) is wrong.

• FALSE

(b)Area of the wall = 80 x 40 =3200 square inches

Therefore, regardless of the size he chooses the area of the wall that is being tile is the same.

• TRUE

(c)

Area of one 4 inch tile = 4 x 4 = 16 square inch

Area of one 2 inch tile = 2 x 2 = 4 square inch

Number of 2 inch tile that will cover the same area = 16/4 =4

• Statement C is FALSE.

(d)Area of one 4 inch tile = 4 x 4 = 16 square inch

Area of one 8 inch tile = 8 x 8 = 64 square inch

Number of 4 inch tile that will cover the same area = 64/16 =4

• Statement D is TRUE.

(e) Area of the room = 3200 square inches

Area of one 8 inch tile = 8 x 8 = 64 square inch

3200/64 =50

Area of one 2 inch tile = 2 x 2 = 4 square inch

3200/4 =800

• Statement E is FALSE
