Given:

The length of a rectangular picture is seven inches longer than the width

So, if we let the width = x

The length will be = x + 7

the perimeter = 2 (length + width) = 62

So, we can write the following equation:

2(x+x+7)=62

Solve the equation to find x:

\begin{gathered} 2(2x+7)=62 \\ 2*2x+2*7=62 \\ 4x+14=62 \\ 4x=62-14 \\ 4x=48 \\ x=(48)/(4)=12 \end{gathered}

So, the answer will be:

Width = 12 inches

Length = 19 inches
