• In order to determine the number of moles of carbon monoxide(CO) , lets us first determine the balanced equatio of the reaction between CO andFe2O3

1. 3CO +Fe2O3 →2Fe +3CO2

3 mole CO : 1 mole Fe2O3

x mole Co :1.75 g .....(cross multiply and solve for X moles of CO)

∴Xmoles CO = 3moles * 1.75 g

x CO = 5.25 moles

• This means that ,5.25 moles of CO, will be required to react completely with 1,75 moles of Fe2O3.
