Vertical and supplementary angles

Finding x

If two lines are crossed the opposite angles of the sections formed are equal:

Then, in this case:

6x + 33 = 93

Now, we solve the equation for x:

6x + 33 = 93

↓ substracting 33 on both sides

6x = 93 - 33

6x = 60

↓ dividing by 6 on both sides

6x/6 = 60/6

x = 10

Finding z

If two angles, side by side, form a straight line, this means that they form together a 180º angle:

Then, in this case:

93 + z = 180

Now, we solve the equation for z:

93 + z = 180

↓ substracting 93 on both sides

z = 180 - 93

z = 87

Answer: x = 10 and z = 87
