Let n be the number,

a number (n)

half of the number (n/2)

and 16 are added and the result is 43

This will be :

n+(n)/(2)+16=43

Solve for the value of n.

Multiply both sides by 2 :

2n+n+32=86

Subtract 32 to both sides of the equation :

\begin{gathered} 3n=86-32 \\ 3n=54 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 3 :

\begin{gathered} (3n)/(3)=(54)/(3) \\ n=18 \end{gathered}

The answer is 18
