Data:

Distance: 285 miles

Time: 4 hours

As the speed was constant, you can calculated it, as follow:

s=(d)/(t)
s=\frac{285\text{miles}}{4h}=71.25(miles)/(h)

Then, you can find the distance in 3 hours with the next formula:

d=s\cdot t

You know the value of the spped (71.25miles/h) and the time is 3h:

d=71.25\frac{\text{miles}}{h}\cdot3h=213.75milesThen, the car travels 213.75 miles in 3 hours.
