Divide the image into 2 rectangles

The area of a rectangle is


A=length* width

\begin{gathered} For\text{ Rectangle 2} \\ A_2=50*10=500yd^2 \end{gathered}

The total area of the shape will be;


A=A_1+A_2=1200+500=1700yd^2

Answer;


A=1700\text{ square yards}
