By definition, a Scatter Plot is a graph in which data is displayed using points., and shows the relation between two variables.

By definition:

- When there is a positive correlation between the variables "x" and "y", both variables increase.

- When there is a negative correlation, the variable "y" decreases as the variable "x" increases.

Hence, the answer is: In plots that show a positive correlation, both variables "x" and "y" increase, but in plots that show a negative correlation, the variable "y" decreases as the variable "x" increases.
