We know that w is directly proportional to h, this means that:

w=kh

where k is our constant of proportionality. To find out its value we plug the values the problem give and solve for k:

\begin{gathered} 18=3k \\ k=(18)/(3) \\ k=6 \end{gathered}

Therefore the equation that represents this relationship is:

w=6h
