all you need to do is convert the words into math terms and then, operate

Step 1

Let

the product= the multiplicaion = *

difference = a substaction

Step 2

replace

the sum of 10 and -3=

\begin{gathered} 10+(-3) \\ 10+3 \end{gathered}

the difference between -10 and 3

\begin{gathered} -10-3 \\ -10-3 \end{gathered}

Now, the product

\begin{gathered} (10+3)\cdot(-10-3) \\ \end{gathered}

eliminate the parenthesis

\begin{gathered} (10+3)\cdot(-10-3) \\ 13\cdot-13 \end{gathered}

make the multiplication

\begin{gathered} 13\cdot-13 \\ -169 \end{gathered}

so, the answer is -169
