To calculate the surface area (SA) of the cylinder you have to calculate the area of both circular faces (top and bottom) and the lateral area and add them together, since both circles are equal, you can calculate twice the area of one of them. The formula for the surface area is then:

SA=2\pi r^2+2\pi rh

Where

πr² is the area of the circle

2πrh is the lateral area of the cylinder

Use

π =3.14

h=9m

r=3m

\begin{gathered} SA=2\cdot3.14\cdot3^2+2\cdot3.14\cdot3\cdot9 \\ SA=56.52+169.56 \\ SA=226.08m^2 \end{gathered}

The surface area of the cylinder is 226.08m²
