Weare given the function: g(x) = x^2 +1, and we are asked to find what is the value of g(1).

Then we simply repalce the independent variable "x" with "1" in the given expression, and evaluate:

g(x) = x^2 + 1

g(1) = (1)^2 + 1

g(1) = 1 + 1

g(1) = 2
