500 ml of water at 10°C

m1= 500 ml

T1 = 10°C

100 ml of water at 70°C

m2= 100 ml

T2 = 70°

Heat gained = heat lost

m1 C (T-T1 ) = m2 C (T2- T)

m1 (T-T1 ) = m2 (T2-T)

500 ( T - 10 ) = 100 (70 - T)

Solve for T

500T - 5000 = 7000- 100T

500T +100 T = 7000+5000

600 T = 12000

T= 12000/600

T= 20

Final temperature = 20°C (option B)
