Use a calculator to evaluate each expression. 225e^0.2= and e^-0.15=Round your answer to the nearest thousandth.

\begin{gathered} 225e^(0.2)\approx274.816 \\ e^(-0.15)\approx0.861 \end{gathered}

1) Let's calculate those expressions that have the Irrational Number "e". Note that "e" is approximately 2.71 but we won't round it off till we have finished. So we can write out:


225e^(0.2)=225e^{(2)/(10)}=225\cdot\: 1.22140\approx274.816

Note that we could have written that as root. But for the sake of convenience, we did this way.

2) For the second expression we can solve this way:


e^(-0.15)=((1)/(e))^(0.15)=0.8607..\approx0.861

Notice that negative exponents denote a reciprocal base raised to a positive exponent.

Hence, that is the answer
