Step 1

The regression plot shows a line of best fit that determines the predicted number of push-ups required for each man at different ages. The men either meet the predicted number of push up's which can be traced from the line, go above the predicted number of push-ups or go below

Step 2

Interprete the residual for the man indicated in the plot.

The man is 30 yrs and this remains constant, no matter the number of push-ups he does. However, by prediction, he should do about 28 push-ups as seen below. But he does just 18 push-ups.

Therefore, we can conclude that the man completed 10 fewer push-ups, than predicted based on his age.

Hence the answer is option D.
