We have the following:

In part a we must multiply each part.

And in part b, we must calculate the values of that multiplicity

Part A:

Area as a sum:


2x^2+2x-3x-3\rightarrow2x^2-x-3

Area as a product:


(2x-3)\cdot(x+1)

Part B:

Area as a sum:


x^2+2x+3x+6\rightarrow x^2+5x+6

Area as a product:


(x+3)\cdot(x+2)
