Which is bigger, 64/107 or 15/35. my calculator says 64/107 is bigger but that’s not correct, right?

We can compare unlike fractions by cross multiplication in the following way:

Here,


\begin{gathered} 64*35>15*107 \\ \text{because 64x35=}2240\text{ and 107x15=}1605 \end{gathered}

Therefore,


(64)/(107)>(15)/(35)

then 64/107 is bigger than 15/35

Which is bigger, 64/107 or 15/35. my calculator says 64/107 is bigger but that’s not-example-1
