Explanation:

You divide the number of people (8 people) by the seats available at each table (3 seats) to get 2 2/3 tables. 2/3 of a table doesn't make sense so you round up to 3 whole tables. With 3 tables 2 tables will be full with 3 people seated and the third table will have 2 of the people seated at it.
