Given

ABCD is a trapezoid.

And, segment AB = 1 cm and segment CD = 5 cm.

The area is 7.5 cm^2.

To find the altitude of the trapezoid.

Now,

The area of the trapezoid is given by,

A=(a+b)/(2)* h

Here a and b are the parallel segments.

Therefore, for a=1cm, b=5cm and area=7.5cm^2,

\begin{gathered} 7.5=(1+5)/(2)* h \\ (6)/(2)* h=7.5 \\ 3h=7.5 \\ h=(7.5)/(3) \\ h=2.5cm \end{gathered}

Hence, the altitude of the trapezoid is 2.5cm.
