x=63

Step-by-step explanation

Step 1

you can easily solve this by using a rule of three

Let

the variation is

\begin{gathered} x\text{ =35 and y=5 } \\ (x)/(y)=(35)/(5) \end{gathered}

then

\begin{gathered} \text{what is x , when y= 9} \\ \text{the proportion is the same, so} \\ (35)/(5)=(x)/(9) \end{gathered}

Step 2

solve for x

\begin{gathered} (35)/(5)=(x)/(9) \\ 35\cdot9=5\cdot x \\ (35\cdot9)/(5)=x \\ x=(315)/(5) \\ x=63 \end{gathered}

I hope this helps you
