Work done can be defined simply as the force times distance covered.

To find work, use the equation:

Work = Force x distance

Force is in Newtons

Distance is in meters

The unit of work is Joule.

Another method to find work is:

W = F cos θ⋅ d

F = force

d = displacement

Here, the force is extended to the direction of motion at angle θ.
