8x - 31 + 5y + 35 = 180 (sum of angle on a straight line is 180)

8(3) - 31 + 5y + 35 = 180

5y + 24 - 31 + 35 = 180

5y + 28 = 180

5Y = 180 - 28

5Y = 152

y = 152/5

y = 30.4

Hence x = 3, y = 30.4
