The coordinates of three vertices of parallelogram ABCD are A(-1,0), B(4,0), and C(5,4). What are the coordinates of vertex D?A. (1,4)B. (0,3)C. (1,3)D. (0,4)

Solution

for this case we can create the following diagram

We can find the slope between (4,0 ) and (5,4) and we have:

m=(4-0)/(5-4)=4

Then we can use the point (-1,0) and one corrdinat eof the point is (?,4) since needs to be at the same level (5,4)

And we can do this:

0= 4*-1 +b

b= 4

And the equation is:

y= 4x+4

And solving for x we have:

4= 4x+4

4x=0

x=0

And the point is:

D.(0,4)

= 4x+

The coordinates of three vertices of parallelogram ABCD are A(-1,0), B(4,0), and C-example-1
