The formula of the angular momentum is given by the formula,


L=\text{mvr}

Here, m is the mass, v is the velocity and r is the radius.

To determine the direction, the right-hand thumb rule is used.

In the right-hand thumb rule, the direction of angular momentum is defined as the direction in which the thumb of your right-hand points when you curl your finger in the direction of rotation.

Given the direction of spinning object is clockwise, hence the curl fingers will be in the clockwise direction and the thumb shows the direction of angular momentum which is in the downward direction.

Thus, the vector of angular momentum for a clockwise spinning object is in the downward direction.
