The stemplot lets you see the shape of the distribution of the data.

In this case, we have two distribution ("resting" and "after").

We can see that both are kind of bell-shaped, but with different mean.

In the "resting" distribution we can estimate that the mean is aroung 75 beats per minute (because the class 70 is in the center of the bell), while the "after" distribution has an estimated mean of 95 beats per minute.

The maximum value for "resting" is 120 beats per minute, while the maximum value for "after exercise" is 146 beats per minute.
